Authentic Civil War Era Multi-Color Wood Engraving-One of a Kind Item for sale in Butler, Pennsylvania

$250

Quite possibly one-of-a-kind woodcut or wood engraving(not a modern reproduction or from a period publication). Each color was printed by hand using a seperate woodblock. It depicts a woman and a Union officer trying to stop an attack on a fallen Confederate soldier by 3 Union? soldiers. I'm not sure if this was to illustrate a long forgotten battlefield incident, or a comment on the confusing social and political issues of the time(ie. the brother vs. brother issue). It is unsigned and undated, I would love to be able to research the artist if known. Certainly a period piece by the style. Size is 5 in.x 7 3/8 in., framed size is 11 in.x 12 in.. Frame is a period style modern gilt wood frame, gray and blue double mat(100%cotton rag and backing, archivally mounted). Wire hanger and bumper pads. Framing is mint condition with 1 tiny back bottom corner chip(barely noticeable), print has a small dark stain(looks like ink)on the left upper tree line, and a few tears on the bottom edge which have been archivally repaired. Perfect for gift-giving and worthy of the most advanced Civil War collection! Shipping is Free if Wanted! I have a Paypal Business Account-if you wanted to pay thru Paypal.
